The York Rite Bodies of Kansas City
Companions and Sir Knights,
M.:.E.:.C.:. David L. Leirer, Grand High Priest of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of the State of Missouri, M.:.I.:.C.:. Wayne B. Fryer, Grand Master of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of the State of Missouri, and S.:.K.:. Clark A. McLemore, Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of the State of Missouri, being in agreement that it is in the best interest of our membership to take seriously the current health environment and the potential infectious and contagious risk to our membership, have agreed to suspend all official and unofficial activities of the Grand Chapter, Grand Council and Grand Commandery, and those of the subordinate Chapters and Councils and the constituent Commanderies until further notice.
The situation will be reevaluated as changes occur and we will advise everyone when this suspension of all activities has been lifted.
To be clear, this includes all stated/special meetings, festivals, or general gatherings for any York Rite purpose.
A decision has NOT been made with regard to the Grand Sessions in June. As soon as a decision is made, everyone will be informed.
Edicts and General Orders will be forthcoming.
Fraternally and Most Respectfully,
David L. Leirer, Grand High Priest
Wayne B. Fryer, Grand Master
Clark A. McLemore, Grand Commander
The degrees of Ancient Craft Masonry are the first three degrees of York Rite Freemasonry. Those who have attained the degree of Master Mason may petition for the remainder of the York Rite Degrees and Orders.
As a Master Mason, an overseer of the Word, you are taught many moral lessons and are prepared for the life to come, but the Temple of life is not yet completed. Those faithful Craftsmen who have labored so long are deprived by the wickedness of others, of that for which they have wrought so faithfully, the WORD, which would entitle them to WAGES. Because of the symbolism used in the Ancient Craft Degrees, it is often difficult to comprehend. The York Rite Degrees and Orders exist to explain and make clear the wonderful knowledge imparted to us in symbolic form, and to supply that which was lost but later FOUND.
The Kansas City York Rite bodies meet at 7:00pm, on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month, at the Ivanhoe Masonic Temple, 8640 Holmes, Kansas City, MO, 64131.
